GoDaddy Setup Guide

Connect your GoDaddy account to manage all your domains in Domain Collective.

Step 1: Access GoDaddy Developer Portal

Navigate to the GoDaddy developer portal to create API keys

  1. Visit the GoDaddy Developer Portal
  2. Sign in with your GoDaddy account credentials

Step 2: Create API Key

Generate production API credentials for Domain Collective

  1. Click "Create New API Key"
  2. Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Domain Collective Integration")
  3. Environment: Select Production (NOT OTE/Test)
  4. Click "Next" to generate the keys

Step 3: Copy Your Credentials

Save these credentials immediately - the secret is shown only once!

API Key

Copy and save this value (you'll enter it as "API Key" in Domain Collective)

API Secret

Copy and save this value immediately (you'll enter it as "API Secret" in Domain Collective)

Step 4: Get Your Customer Number

Find your GoDaddy Customer Number (also called Shopper ID)

  1. Go to your GoDaddy account settings
  2. Look for "Customer Number" or "Shopper ID" in your account details
  3. Copy this number (you'll enter it as "Customer ID" in Domain Collective)

Step 5: Connect to Domain Collective

Use your credentials to connect your GoDaddy account

You'll need these three pieces of information:

  • API Key: From Step 3
  • API Secret: From Step 3
  • Customer ID: From Step 4

Troubleshooting

ACCESS_DENIED Error

You don't meet the domain count requirements. Either transfer more domains to GoDaddy or purchase a Discount Domain Club membership at godaddy.com/domains/discount-domain-club

401 Unauthorized Error

Make sure you selected "Production" environment, not "OTE" (test environment)

403 Forbidden Error

Verify your Customer ID matches the account that owns the API key

No Domains Showing

Ensure the API key has access to the correct GoDaddy account
